Tim is a multimedia journalist and producer. He previously worked as a sportswriter for The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, and Religion of Sports, a documentary production company. His stories often explore sports at the intersection of culture, politics, and crime.

Tim has reported, written, and hosted several narrative podcasts, including Fall of a Titan, a nine-part series investigating the death of NFL quarterback Steve McNair; and False Idol, a seven-part series re-examining Oscar Pistorius, the former Paralympian who killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. The Podcast Academy nominated False Idol for Podcast of the Year in 2021.

In 2023, he traveled to Ukraine to report Volley and Serve, a podcast profiling Sergiy Stakhovsky, a Ukrainian tennis player fighting in the war.

As a print journalist, Tim writes features and investigations and has covered several beats (the NFL, college football, New York Mets). He has also reported on the MLB, NHL, NBA, and college basketball. And he contributed to the Times’ breaking news coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Tim attended the University of Michigan, where he wrote for The Michigan Daily. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
